How to avoid odd-looking color bands on vertex color meshes?

If the input mesh has colors (RGB three-channel color values) on each vertex of the mesh, sometimes new color bands are introduced giving incorrect representation. In this case try going to the Advanced tab, and turn off the Enable VCT setting. This may have a further side effect of disabling lighting effects due default Adobe behavior.  A further method is to adjust advanced XML settings using <Color2Texture> – contact support for details.
