How to Make a 3D PDF

3D photos, Virtual Reality worlds and designs for feeding 3D printers are showing up in many diverse places. To document share and review 3D models needs a generic universally accepted format such as PDF. Actually, PDF already supports 3D. Once a 3D model is converted to 3D PDF, it can be distributed and viewed with any 3D enabled PDF viewer.

WHAT YOU NEED

3D Design Program or Model File
PDF3D ReportGen Program
3D Enabled PDF Viewer such as Adobe Reader

STEP 1

Export 3D model to a typical format such as DWG, VRML, STEP, OBJ, STL. See format list.

STEP 2

Add file to input list in PDF3D ReportGen program.

STEP 3

Set output PDF file name and optional template design file.

STEP 4

Click Convert to start the PDF creation process.

STEP 5

Open new file in 3D PDF viewer program such as Adobe Reader or Acrobat.
